Welcoming/Kindness: Little Explorers Childcare and Discovery Centre strives to create an environment that is an extension of the home; a place that is welcoming and full of happy, kind people who take their roles in your child’s life seriously. We also aim to teach the children in our care to be welcoming and kind human beings.
Respect: We desire to teach the children in our care about respect, mainly through our actions towards each other, to the children we take care of, to our parents, and to our community. Respect is a vital value that we desire to teach your child from an early stage. We make sure to teach your children to respect everyone, no matter what age, race, religion, or status they may be. Teaching respect helps them to be kind and thoughtful with anyone they may encounter.
Trustworthy: Little Explorers’ desire is to be able to be relied on as an honest and truthful organization. We aim to be deserving of trust and confidence. We are dependable and reliable.
Safety/Cleanliness: Little Explorers Childcare and Discovery Centre is committed to providing a safe and clean environment for all.
Fun: Fun translates to a friendly work environment where people like to be – when we enjoy our jobs, our families enjoy being a part of our daycare. Work can be fun, fulfilling, and exciting. We appreciate being part of a team that is making a difference and we will work to grow and strengthen our operations.
Support: Our childcare centre wants to be a support system for everyone we work and interact with. We will provide encouragement to our co-workers, children in our care, parents, and community because we want them all to succeed. We will also provide support through professional resources outside of our organization, in order to meet specific individual needs.
Communication: Good communication is key to a successful organization. It solves problems, even before they happen. We strive to be a transparent daycare, open to our employees, parents, children, and community.
Teamwork/Friendship (Relationships): We believe that working together results in a stronger organization and community. Respectful relationships are especially important and the basis on which our organization operates. We believe that the quality of care we provide is measured by the quality of relationships we have with children, families, employees, school boards, funders, and legislators. We are committed to ensuring that these relationships are respectful; warm and caring; honest and open; fair and equitable.
Organization: Organization is important to Little Explorers Childcare and Discovery Centre. This skill is needed in our daycare, so everyday operations run smoothly, and in our staff, so schedules and plans are run well, to effectively support the children in our care. We strive to teach this valuable skill to the children, through our actions.
Community: Little Explorers aims to meet the needs of families in the Drumheller area. We desire to truly be a community, where our families share, build relationships, and contribute to Drumheller. Our daycare centre not only wants to be a community, where we live in the same area, but we want to encapsulate the other definition of community, “a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals” (Oxford Languages).
